I read the saying 30-years-ago: “When you sleep under a quilt, you sleep under a blanket of love.” I was hooked before even learning to quilt!
I was orphaned when I was 11-years-old and lived in four different foster homes, totally lost without my siblings. I knew that if I could make a quilt that would give a child a feeling of love and security, that’s what I needed to do – something they could take with them no matter where they lived. I have been quilting for more than 30 years and love everything about quilting!
I started out my quilt designing career working with a single quilt shop. I designed a block of the month quilt and offered the pattern online for free…then the quilt shop sold kits to quilters for the design. That shop sold so many kits, the owner called the fabric distributor and literally made them go search their warehouse shelves for more of the fabric line I used for that quilt! This designing process has worked well for me and the quilt shops I have worked with!
For the past 20 years, I have had the opportunity to work from home. I was able to be the Mom that I wanted to be and raise my children the way my husband and I wanted them raised. I quilted all that time (and beyond), too. Working from home is a big passion of mine. I feel that women should have options and working from home was the option I chose and would still help anyone who wanted to work from home.
