About & Contact

I read the saying over 40-years-ago: “When you sleep under a quilt, you sleep under a blanket of love.”  I was hooked before even learning to quilt!

I was orphaned when I was 12-years-old and lived in five different foster homes, totally lost without my siblings. I knew that if I could make a quilt that would give a child a feeling of love and security, that’s what I needed to do – something they could take with them no matter where they lived.  I have been quilting for more than 40 years & love everything about quilting!

My first sewing machine was a borrowed antique Singer—it was electric but it only had a straight-stitch and back-stitch—no other stitches!  Over the years, I sewed with a number of machines and when I felt I truly met my quilting goals, I bought a Bernina…and have been using that to quilt since 2003.  There are newer and fancier machines available, but I am still very pleased with my Bernina & can’t justify the purchase of a new sewing machine.

I quilt, I design quilts, I sleep with quilts & I love quilts.  Our four children call me the Quilt Designing Computer Geek.  I also help design & market online quilt shop websites.  My husband and family endures my obsession, as only a loving family can.

My new quilt studio is the best! It’s not very big but it’s big enough for me! It holds my fabric stash (shh!), cutting board, sewing table (with two domestic sewing machines & one embroidery/sewing machine), an ironing station, loads of thread (shh again!) & a long arm! It’s my happy place! It’s where I go when I want to get away & leave my troubles behind me!

I started out my quilt designing career working with a single quilt shop.  I designed a block of the month quilt and offered the pattern online for free…then the quilt shop sold kits to quilters for the design.  That shop sold so many kits, the owner called the fabric distributor & (literally) made them go search their warehouse shelves for more of the fabric line I used for that quilt!  This designing process has worked well for me and the quilt shops I have worked with!

For the past 27 years, I have had the opportunity to work from home. I was able to be the Mom that I wanted to be and raise our children, the way my  husband & I wanted them raised. I quilted all that time (and beyond), too.  Working from home is a big passion of mine! I feel that women should have options, and working from home was the option I chose & would still help anyone who wanted to work from home.
